The MR-STAT research group under supervision of Alessandro Sbrizzi and project partners CWI (Tristan van Leeuwen) and Philips will start a 3 year long collaboration with the eScience Institute towards the optimization of the MR-STAT reconstruction software.
This project aims at dramatically reducing the MR-STAT computing times to within 1 minute. To achieve this, researchers from the UMC Utrecht, CWI, Philips and eScience center will team up and realize an MR-STAT computing infrastructure which can be deployed in a radiology department. Central in our scenario is the combination of modern computing infrastructures (distributed GPU) with tailored algorithmic solutions.
The grant includes also the organization of two workshops focused on the newly developed reconstruction tools which will run on (distributed) GPU architectures.
