Background Sjors Verschuren completed his B.Sc. Biomedical Engineering (with great appreciation) in 2017-2020 and is currently persuing his M.Sc. in Medical Engineering, both at the Technical University of Eindhoven (the Netherlands). In context of his M.Sc. studies, Sjors is currently enrolled in the Medical Imaging track (a collaboration with the University of Utrecht), for which he is working on his M.Sc. thesis at the Computational Imaging Group, UMC Utrecht. His main intersts lie in general medical image acquisition and analysis, medical physics and machine learning.

Under the supervision of Maarten Terpstra and Tom Bruijnen, Sjors aims to implement a system for real-time reinforcement learning to patient-specific MRI protocol design. This largely unchartered area of research could enable objective methods for determining appropriate scan parameters in specific patients and remove the need for manual application-specific sequence design.
