Background
Tessa van Bergen received her bachelor’s (2021) and master’s (2024) degrees in biomedical sciences at the University of Amsterdam. The work for her master’s thesis was conducted at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and focused on photodynamic therapy (PDT), immune checkpoint therapy, oncology, fluorescent imaging, and photoacoustic imaging.
Since June 2024, Tessa works as a PhD student in the Computational Imaging Group under the supervision of Nico van den Berg, Arthur Braat, and Timo Soeterik. The project aims to develop deep learning models for the segmentation and classification for the prognosis of patients with metastasized hormone sensitive prostate cancer using PSMA PET/CT scans.
