Background
Mianyong completed his undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences (Double degrees) in China and Ireland. Afterward, he completed his master’s degree in Bioinformatics (cum laude) at KU Leuven, Belgium. During his master’s education, he confirmed his interest in data sciences and AI. He followed an advanced master’s program in Artificial Intelligence and worked on representation learning in histopathological images at KU Leuven before joining the Computational Imaging Group.
In September 2023, Mianyong joined the Computational Imaging Group for his PhD project. Under the supervision of Marry van den Heuvel-Eibrink (Prinses Máxima Centrum), Geert Janssens(UMC Utrecht) and Matteo Maspero. His work will include developing CT and MRI-based deep learning methods to delineate organs/structures-at-risk and the primary pediatric renal tumor volume. Mianyong will also validate these deep learning methods in a multicenter setting via federated learning.
