Background
Maaike Wösten received her bachelor’s degree in Technical Medicine (2018) and her master’s degrees in Technical Medicine (2023) and Applied Mathematics (2023) from the University of Twente. Her master thesis focused on cardiac monitoring during VA ECMO support in the ICU, using
cardiovascular models.
Currently, Maaike works as a PhD student in the Computational Imaging Group and the Cardiology department of the UMC Utrecht under the supervision of Bart Steensma, Linda van Laake, Pim van der Harst and Nico van den Berg. Her work focuses on technological innovation in diagnosis and treatment of acute and advanced heart failure, including the RF Sensing project.
